Default Storage Village Self Storage

Storage Village donates and volunteers around the year as well as hosts charity events at our store. Each location has a planet aid box which collects food and clothes to send to people in need around the world. Additionally each of our stores hosts a canned food collection center. We encourage tenants and employees to donate canned foods, providing incentives such as one month for $1 if you bring in 3 canned goods. The food collected then goes to a food bank which serves the same community as our storage facility. Our White Flint location donates to Manna, our Landover location donates to PG County Resource Center, our Chantilly location donates to Western Fairfax Christian Ministries, our Clifton Park location donates to John Hopkins Bayview and our Millersville location donates to Severna Park Assistance Network.

In addition to donating essentials to those who need it, Storage Village employees also donate their time. Each full time employee donates 8 hours a month at the organization of their choice. In the past month, Storage Village employees have volunteered all around DC, Maryland and Northern Virginia including People Encouraging People, Parks and Recreation in Baltimore City, Eastern Family Resource Center, and Western Fairfax Christian Ministries.

As previously mentioned, Storage Village also hosts charitable events at our store. Last month, Storage Village ran a school supply drive which raised 82 items including backpacks, notebooks, and calculators for the children of Belair-Edison. We are currently planning a special Thanksgiving Food Drive, a company wide effort to ensure that everyone in our community enjoys a Thanksgiving meal.

Storage Village's committment to community service has left a profound impact of its employees. It has strengthened their ties to their community, and enriched their lives through the sense of fulfillment that comes from doing good for others. One employee who volunteered at Western Fairfax Christian Ministries got the chance to speak with a few of the recipients, and commented on how heartwarming it is to see face to face the impact Storage Village has, from the collections at the storage, to the distribution at the food bank.

Our orientation towards community service has undeniably has its business benefits. Perhaps most importantly, our company reputation has attracted employees who are friendly, compassionate, trustworthy, hardworking and proud of the company they work for. This is turn has kept customers happy, and we have suffered significantly less than our competitors during the economic crisis. To top it all off, we have received many awards and recognitions for our contribution to the community. Just this summer, we were honored with the prestigious Presidential Service Award.

Storage Village is proud to be an active member in its community, and it has brought incredible rewards to both individual employees and the company as a whole.
