I'm located in northwest Indiana very close to Lake Michigan as well as other smaller lakes in the region. My partner and I are currently scouting properties. Some towns are enforcing policies including the overall height of the buildings and exterior construction materials. Part of our business plan was to maximize the height of a building (floor space is expensive whereas airspace is cheap). There are Lake Michigan based marinas that use vertical racks to store smaller boats in the 16' to 24' range. They use a large "forklift" to insert the boat in the rack then store the trailers outside in another storage area.
Does anyone here know of these racking systems or where I can research these racks? If anyone is using this system, how well is it working out for you?
