Lightbulb Self Storage Managers Group - Bay Area

Hey all,

If you are located in the Peninsula or even farther reaches of the San Francisco Bay Area and would be willing to meet either monthly or quarterly for an evening of dinner with fellow managers please post a response in this thread.

There is some talk of reviving this group (1993-97 time frame) and we need to know if there is sufficient interest. We found that we get better response and turnouts if the dinners are held in the Santa Clara/Sunnyvale area, more restaurant choices for one and more centrally located for most all cities along the Peninsula.

Let's see what type of response we get and we'll go forward from there. If you know managers and owners who might be interested who are not SST members; tell them to sign up, log in and post also. Once we have enough interest we'll start gathering contact info offline and get things rolling.

Thanks,
Gina

Hi Gina,

I'd be interested in reviving the group and getting fresh blood in. Count me in.

Poor Wayne, he's all the way down there, amongst the tumbleweeds.

I would love to be part of this group.....but I'm not exactly in the "Bay Area"! I'm in Oakdale (Central Valley) cowboy capital of the world...on the way to everywhere. We're about 70 miles east of SF. But, keep me posted, I can drive!

Everyone's welcome, even Wayne as long as he ditches that piece o' straw from between his teeth. It's BYOB, as in bring your own bed.

We had people from Santa Cruz, Capitola & Gilroy in the south all up the peninsula & people from as far north as San Mateo or Petaluma and Oakland come in the past.

The biggest hurdles are finding a place to accommodate 30 - 60 people, that would hopefully issue separate checks or find a lodge or something that will cut us a fixed rate deal and everyone just reimburses a fixed rate.

We bopped from restaurant to restaurant before and that's a logistical nightmare, but we aim to please all. We moved northwards one month, then further south on every other month to lessen travel time for one group or another.

Reebee, I love driving through Oakdale! That means I am headed somewhere for a day or more off. Can't remember the last time I was through there.

I met up with a couple of my comptitors for coffee yesterday, and they are interested in meeting up, as well.

Can you believe that neither one of them knew about SST Power?
