Portables or Containers
Has anyone bought any of the new Janus outdoor portable buildings? Any idea how much they cost ? Or anyone else's protables. I tried some made with wood runners and floors about 10 years ago and not very satisfied so was wondering about the new ones?

Portables
Hi,
When comparing cost, be sure to consider the whole system - not just the containers, but also any equipment, trucks, etc needed to move them. Depending on how you'll be using them, it may also be important to know how much time it takes to drop off and pick up at a residential location, and how much of a risk is there that you may damage the customer's driveway.

Right kind of portables
I wonder if Steve is speaking of the small pod type units which are brought to peoples homes to be filled? I think the original post is perhaps about the new much larger (heavier) permanent but movable portable buildings - akin to 40 foot steel containers but looking in appearance like convetional metal locker buildings.
In western Alberta and eastern British Columbia you see these used. (the ones I have seen are built by a local Alberta company. They seem to be placed right next to the fence. Being portable they by-pass the local 10-15 feet of set back for permanent buildings. They are a practical way to build a whole extra row of buildings.

POrtables vs sea containers...
When I posted I guess I assumed the original question was moreso asking about the residential containers. He mentioned the new Janus units, which are sized in the category of residential portable units. These are the imported tilt up units, not the stick built moveable ones.
The question to tkbrooks might be "what are you looking to do?" On-site storage that doesn't move, or are you looking to transport containers around town to offer a mobile service? How you will use the containers and where you will place them has a lot to do with which product will best meet your needs.
Steve
