Thread: Most Facilities Per Sq. Mile

Because I'm a stat freak, I was curious if anyone has any numbers on which areas/cities have the most storage facilities per square mile -- as in, which area is the most densely populated with storage facilities?

I'd like to put together a Top 10 list or something. Thanks.

Not sure how to quantify this but Mesa, Arizona has a bunch.

I don't know about per square mile, but, I covered a USI property in Decatur, Ga., and touching it's southern edge was another national storage property, and touching their southern edge was another independent storage facility. I'm not the brightest candle on the cake, but that seems to be pretty dense to me!

I have 12 in a square mile, here in Redwood City.

I would love to know how everyone else is?

I have been in 2 over-saturated areas, and the third had 3 in a 15 mile radius-it still did poorly cuz it was so rural....

I am not sure of a place with the most densely populated with self storage. But, there is a 1,500 foot section along Government Way in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho that Has five (5) facilities. You can step out the front door and see all five of them.

Well, we're not door to door yet but here we have approximately 25 facilities in a 5 mile radius. I gets pretty competitive sometimes. Technically, my sister facility is my closest competitor. Soon, the same will be the case in the other direction. Wow!
