ADA Compliance Doors
Hello
We are in the final stage of construction of a 254 unit storage facility in South Dakota. We are running into a problem of our 12 ADA roll up doors.
The ADA is wanting us to install 12 automatic lift operators on the 12 doors that will cost close to $20,000 which at this point we do not have. We have been
working with Trachte building systems and they say that there doors meet ADA standards but it may not fly with our local ADA compliance director. Has anyone had to deal with this
problem before and would there be any cost effective way to appease to both ADA and our tight budget?
thanks for your help.

That sounds nightmarish! We have a few contacts who specialize in precisely this issue - would you like us to look into it for you??
Best of luck,

Re: ADA Compliance Doors
I am so relieved that we passed the test for ADA compliant doors that would have been a $12,000 add on to put the lifts on, thank goodness that Trachte doors are light enough to pass the test i have been so happy with their building and help in this overall process.
Thank you Lydia for all your helpful responses to my post i am taking your advice and I am going to start decorating the facility for the Holiday season.
take care

It was just a moment ago I realized I was responding to so many of your posts! I'm thrilled the situation was resolved.
Don't forget to decorate your online presence also - that's where your customers will look first!
Best,
Lydia
