Anyone have a good source for door springs?

Our last order was from Roll-A-Flex Doors Inc. -- not around any more!!

Thanks in advance for your help.

We usually order our from Chateau products, but there were some that we needed that they didn't carry so we order those from US Door.

Default Iowa Spring

Your probably going to need a general spring company. Make sure to have your sizes prepared when you call them. Here is a link to a site that may be able to help you. http://www.iowaspring.com/

I found a supplier -- they can make the springs for about $28.00!! I had checked with others and they wanted anywhere from $50 to $125!!!

If anyone is interested check out www.overheaddoorparts.com

Thanks to all for your input.

give us a review of the product once you get it.

We have just started having alot of springs going bad. And have had to replace a large number in the last year.

The buildings that it is happening with, are 10-11 years old now. I am assuming this is common, cause I think in the first 3 buildings we built we have replaced about 80% of the springs.

I guess we got better springs to begin with -- our building is about 22 years old and I have only lost 2 springs this year!

I will be ordering some springs next week -- I will keep you posted!!

I think the humidity and condensation, changing weather patterns here may play a part in it.

Default Spring Break solution

Janus sells an "upgrade repair kit" to accommodate the issue of spring replacement. Research shows that the broken spring issue can be prevented if the spring is protected from the outside elements and proper lubrication is applied to the spring. The kit fits all roll-up doors. All you need to have is the size and manufacturer name. The kit provides you a fully enclosed barrel, tensioner, lubricated springs, and a five year warranty. So basically you have a brand new operating system of a roll-up door for a fraction of a new door price.
