Default Pest Control

This question is for the smaller operations out there that cannot afford professional pest control -- what do you use?

When I first started here about 2 years ago we had a real bad problem with black widows -- they were ever where!

In an old copy of ISS I found an artical about pest control and they mentioned Cedardice.

I decided to give it a try, and within 6 months about 95% of my black widows were gone!!! We have also had a reduction in most every other kind of but except ladybugs and dragonflies! I really love this stuff.

Anybody else have a remedy for pests (epically mice as I still have a few of them) I prefer natural (eco friendly) solutions if possible.

Thanks

Wayne

Default Bugs & other Pests are LOCAL - Call county Agent

I have had black widow spiders (inside mullion panels) on every new building. disturb the soil & you get ants, spiders, etc

I like Malithon, 67% - kills many types of bugs, flies, ticks, fleas, roaches. the SECRET is regular applications - every 6 weeks

for mice/rats I like WAFRIN products see helena chemical or local form supply store for a 2 gal pail - you need them especially in winter when they come in from the cold.

See your COUNTY AGENT for advice, local remedies, etc. and handouts on this subject

Malithon may work good, but I don't like that kind of products. I try to stay away from poison if I can.

For the Black Widows give Cedercide a try it works great and no poison involved.

The biggest challenge with self-treating is being sure it happens each month when scheduled. As with any preventative effort, it's easy to push it down the 'to do' list. Frankly, I'm not real keen on handling the chemicals.

We have professional pest control services that run about $200/month for our facility (approx 80,000 sf). This includes spraying inside and outside buildings, as well as maintaining numerous bait stations. They are always helpful if I have a question or concern.

I'd be curious to hear what others are paying?
