Thread: Facility Snow Stories & Photos

The East Coast has been hammered with snow in the past few days. As far south as Atlanta, people have been battling more than a foot of snow. Airport delays and cancellations have made post-Christmas travel a mess.

Does anyone have any good photos or stories from their facilities over the past few days? I'm thinking our East Coasters have something to share. Here are instructions on posting photos.

Heres a couple pics from one of my facilities from the snowfall we had last week in NY. With the winddrifts it was quite high. The pic of the stairs heading to the basement was after we got alot of it out and was still tons left.

Yikes!!!Ok, I'll stop complaining about having to put out Ice Melt!!!

Here's a pic at the ski resort north of one of our facilities ... Mt Washington.

They had 2 metres of snow fall in 24 hours!

We are expecting snow on the ground tomorrow and will snap some pics. It won't be as crazy as omegacraig's pics but it'll be a nice cute blanket.

I finally got to break in my 2 year old snow shovel

And here I was upset that I had to shovel a whole 1" of snow so that our precious customers wouldn't slip and fall and sue us! That looks like too much exercise!

darn snow budget ...

my thoughts however are still with those in Brisbane.

For many folks around the country, this is the time you start to swear at the engineer who laid out the site with no consideration of where to put the snow piles once the plowing is done. I have seen facilities forced into spending thousands of dollars each year to run front end loaders to dump trucks to move snow off their sites.

Yah, if only all those engineers and architects saw how well their designs work in operation. Until then the same design headaches are redesigned again and again and again.

My weather guy was telling me that there is officially snow in 49 of 50 states.
