We have been looking at webselfstorage but it more complicated with many features we don't need. Anyone out there also in a small facility who is has found a super simple software or any other program that is very simple for keeping track of tenants and payments? I have even considered just using a speadsheet. Any suggestions. Thank you!

Hello Everyone,

I am a new District Storage Manager and I am trying to get settled into my new position, I was previously a Site Manager for about 6 years on a facility that is on Accrual accounting. My company is not a storage company, they own all sorts of property and I manage their storages now. Their accounting system is Yardi and each month at the end of the month, they read (not pull) the Sitelink A/R Report, Prepaid Liabilities Report and Insurance Submission report. A month or so after months end is when they physically print the reports and the totals never match what was showed at the physical month's end from before. Any idea how or why this happens? I have tried technical support, but we can never seem to get a straight answer, just looking to see if anyone else has (or had) this issue that maybe could point me in the right direction so I can find these differences. Thank you everyone...

Any ideas on how to add a new building to my map without having to take several Tylenol first?

Hello,

I installed my 2nd quikstor (polycarb) keypad last August as a second entrance to my building. At the beginning of December it started not un-latching the door. Everything else worked fine but it seemed like the relay to unlatch the door wasn’t working. I ended up just changing out the whole keypad board because it was really cold out at the time ( - 25 ) and didn’t feel like testing it in that weather. Luckily I still have 5 keypads sitting in boxes that I haven’t installed as of yet.

The new keypad worked fine until last week where the same issue came up. I did some testing on it this time. I tested the resistance through the relay. I measured quite high in resistance. (which is probably the problem). I then tapped the relay a few times with my screw driver and then it started working fine.

A few days later the door was doing the same thing. I opened the key pad up and tapped the relay again. The door started working again.

Originally I had the positive coming from the source to the relay then out from the relay to the door latch and then back to the source. I have now changed it so the positive go’s to the latch first, then to the relay and back to the source.

I know most people probably don’t get that technically involved with their access control system but it would be helpful if anyone else experienced this problem and what they did to correct it?
Or is it a rare anomaly?
Or do I something wrong in my wiring that is wearing out my relay?

Any info would be helpful. I guess I am going to have to get the relay change so I can use the keypad again.

good evening,

I am changing my software from RentPlus 1.8 to a current not obsolete software. I have picked out 2 from the many that are out there. We need/want a stand alone software (cd/dvd) that won't "time bomb". Been there done that!
We have 1 facilty, 118 units. We do not have internet and really don't want it at this time, so don't need something that "has" to have internet.

The 2 I have made a choice of are Quikstor and Self Storage Pro. I live in CA and know that Quickstor is based in Van Nuys, Ca so they know all about CA lien laws.

My question is: Anyone who has these software programs, have you found anything that would make you not purchase it again if you had too?
I don't want complaints, just obersation of software. Little glitches, things you wish were on there etc.

Thanks

HI everyone!

Our facility in South Eastern New Hampshire is building a new Climate Controlled building in a couple of months. We currently use Digigate for our main gate. So of course we want to use Digigate for entry of the new building.

When we call Digigate (now owned by someone different, of course) they only provide us with one possible installer. Of course he seems to understand that he is the one they recommend, and of course he may charge that way. But we have nothing to compare it to. We are also installing some cameras, that he was going to take care of too. But it's the set up of the new Digigate that seems to be a huge part of his estimate.

So we are just wondering if any facility in the New England area knows of anyone else who installs Digigate?

ANY help would be appreciated!

Happy Spring!

Hi all, I've got 2 questions for the SLWE community here..........
1.) Sitelink recently (1 or 2 updates ago) added a SMS feature for contacting tenants.

So, anyone using this yet? how do you like it, what are the costs?
I haven't been able to find a training video for it yet... but some sleuthing on google turned up the company which is supposed to be supporting the SMS feature....and their website lists a phone number which plays a simple recording and doesn't take messages :(
So... any feedback Sitelink users?
Question #2:
We are thinking about implementing online unit rentals or reservations (we already take online payments).
The specific question i have for this is......
Is there a way to "only" allow specific units for online availability? (Or to exclude specific units?)
Its my understanding that IF I enable this feature, ALL my available units (of certain size or 'class') will show up.... which I see as problematic. (we prefer to keep ALL vacant units locked ALL the time)
I'd much rather specifically pick a handfull of units (that I can leave unlocked) specifically for online rentals or reservations. If/when those get rented online, I'll unlock a few more and update the website...Is the plan, just not sure if the software can handle it.
(I'm trying to avoid going into the 'setup units screen' and unit by unit and making them 'available' or 'unrentable'. ALL my vacant units are available, i just dont want them ALL available for web rental!)
(if SLWE cannot function in this manner than how about we all spam this as a feature request?) :p

Any advice or input in this regard is appreciated.
Thanks
