  • Current per sq foot costs

I got a quote from a builder to complete the supply and construction of a 2400 sq foot building, complete with foundation and base work below the foundation that I am thinking is VERY high. I am wondering what rough costs other people are seeing.

The project is located in Canada.

2400 is REALLY small for a self storage project or phase. You will pay a lot more per sq ft when doing something that small.

Are you just building 1 2400 sqft building? I have some smaller buildings that are under 3000 sqft but we built them 3-6 at a time. I agree with Steve you are probably seeing high rates due to the small size of the project

The rate quoted was more then $70/sq foot.

Are you going to try and stay in the storage industry? Open to moving for the right job? Again, sorry to hear about this....

I second that!!! People have eyes and pocketbooks larger than their abilities/experience sometimes (a lot of times) and they CANNOT park those big rigs straight in their space to save their life! Angled parking and plenty of space to maneuver is a must. As for the dump station, it would be easier to...
