Kids steal fingernail polish out of moms unit and...
What do I do in this situation?
I found gold fingernail polish all over a green door at my facility...
Do I contact their mom and tell her to try to clean it off? What if it dont come off... do i charge her for a new door?
Now I know why I have 25 cameras!

Call me a pr1(k, But I would make the tenant aware. And have them clean it. I once had a tenant shoot paintballs in the CC building. The guy was the head guy at a local childrens home. He had some kids along and he was not aware they shot the paintballs. He could not get back but told me to bill him. $35.00 later all cleaned up. Some would not come up, so I see that everyday.

I would make the mom aware. I would bill her for whatever cleaning supplies are necessary to finish the job. And if I were the mom, I would make the boys clean it up!

Just contact her and let her know what happened. Don't go into it thinking you'll have to bill her without having a conversation.
Most responsible people, depending on how much time they have, would either A) immediately schedule a time to clean it up or B) offer to pay to clean it up. If you have a rough estimate for clean up cost, you'll be able to handle it all in one phone call.
If she doesn't offer to clean it up or pay for it after you mention it, then you should bring up the bill on your own. But I say give her a chance to offer that to keep the conversation cordial.

Re: Kids steal fingernail polish out of moms unit and...
Personally I would let the mom know what happened and go from there. If the mom was truly unaware of what the kids did then I think I would just tell her that we do need to ask her to be sure they aren't able to repeat the same type of action and that if it happened again we would have to hold her responsible for whatever damage the kids did. I would not however ask the mom to pay for the cleanup or do the clean up herself unless it was such extensive damage that it would be a stress to the company you work for. If it was a lot of damage then I would ask the mother to pay some for the repair/cleanup. It sounds to me though that you can probably use fingernail polish remover to get it off.
But everyone handles things differently....

I vote that you quietly explain to the mom what happened, let her know you have video of it, (I'd hate to be that bigger kid when she sees that video) and just tell her, there are damages, they aren't huge, but you needed to know what happened. I would guess that she'd offer to pay. If she doesn't tell her you can just add the charges onto her next bill. It's not your place or your company's place to pay for her brats damages.
