Do you send Christmas cards to tenants?
I was just wondering for those of you out there who have been at your facilities for a while, do you send out Christmas/holiday cards to your tenants...or at least to those tenants that you like?
I am huge on sending Christmas cards, and I'm putting together my "nice" list of tenants who I'll be sending cards to and I was wondering if that's weird or if it's unfair to only send cards to a few people. I pay for the cards and the postage out of pocket and send them on my own time, so I feel like I can be picky on who gets them. I have 433 tenants, so if I sent everyone a card that would be a huge expense. I usually only send out cards to those 30-40 tenants I deal with on a regular basis, my elderly tenants who like to talk when they come in, and just all around those tenants whose names I know and whose company I enjoy when they stop by the office.
your thoughts?

I don't send Christmas cards, although by doing so you may find out new addresses for tenants.
However, I have a few special folks who rent here, and I always give them a jar of my homemade organic red raspberry jam.

Re: Do you send Christmas cards to tenants?
We don't send Christmas cards, but as a company we do send out those z-fold calendars with our information on it to every tenant. Two years ago, I designed our own and had a photo of our property on the top of it. 2012 flew by so fast I didn't get an early enough jump on a custom one, so this year we are sending out a stock calendar again.

Christmas Newsletter as opposed to individual cards.
But we do send customized cards with winter scenes and a pic of our sites to our business partners, delivery drivers, regulars etc ... we also add a gift card or a nice box of eggnog truffles too! We do have some branded calendars as well at our office counter.

Re: Do you send Christmas cards to tenants?
I have a client who not only sends out holiday postcards to all current tenants, but he sends them out to prior tenants as well. He says he always gets repeat rentals from old customers who always comment on getting the annual cards from him. Holiday cheer with both a marketing purpose and a method to check on mailing addresses.

We don't send out Christmas cards as we do not get personal with tenants. Thats straight from corporate.

Re: Do you send Christmas cards to tenants?
Unfortunately, my Christmas cards this time of year only go to certain tenants, and they're the certified mail kind of card. Not so full of holiday cheer. My wife comments that it seems I always get tough with the deadbeats around the holidays, but it's really due to me wanting to clear out the deadwood for the new year.
In no way affiliated with Storman software.

Re: Do you send Christmas cards to tenants?
we have a few tenants that have been with us a very long time that we do send cards to. We always put Merry Christmas to you & yours on the December invoices too. We are not a huge facility we're in a very small tpown but we have folks with us that live in Alaska,CVolorado,Virginia lol that have stayed with us because they love the small town flavor we provide. We try hard to know names and faces and personalize with every tenant. It makes a huge difference.

We send out full size calendar's from comda that have our business information on them. I sent out 725 last month. I also make a Holiday Newsletter that we put inside the calendar's. We stuff them in envelopes then drop them all off at our mass mailing center. I give them excel lists of my customers and they will run it against a database and automatically change addresses for you. (I take that list and send a change of address form to all those customers). They print the addresses and return address on the envelopes and seal them. They are mailed 3rd class which costs .20 each for most of them up to.34 each for others depending on where they are going.
The customers love them and we always order extra that we have in the office for people to give to their friends and family.
