Thread: Storage Wars Lawsuit?

I see an article on-line today where one of the (former) stars of the Storage Wars show has supposedly filed a lawsuit against the show's producers, claiming the situations are faked for the show. (DUH!)
He says he questioned the producers putting valuable items in the units so the bidders have something to find, and a few other practices (including a claim the producers even paid for some cosmetic surgery for one of the regular females, to make her more enticing) - and because of that they fired him.
Too fuuny - I think most of us in the biz know the show is faked "reality" - I've seen in other posts where folks here have seen things that the causal observer wouldn't, that confirm the setup...but it could be dependent upon how public this goes, that the whole thing blows up - which might hurt the attendance at auctions for us, or might hurt the level of bidding in auctions.

I have a friend who has a struggling actor friend in Vegas who allegedly was given an item of value to take into the pawn store there so they'd have something to barter and ogle over...another "reality" show...

well of course the other reality show is also fake...do you think they have a camera man and camera there 24/7 just in case someone walks in with something worth filming?

Lisa, do you mean you don't have a camera crew just hanging out in case something happens that the viewing public might want to watch? LOL!

Thanks Lisa Just been really busy, in a good way. New granddaughter, high school freshman daughter, busy with the storage business and another business I have has recently gotten much busier. It's all good.

well since Hurlco disappeared at exactly the same time you did, I had this theory going that you two were actually one and the same person...Gina denied it, but I'm still skeptical!!!! But I'm glad to see you back, we all missed you!!!

Something I have said all along. Along with most of us here. I guess that was our 15 minutes of fame. I will miss all the excitement when asked what I do. I guess we will soon have to hide our heads in shame...NOT!

HA! That's about right! The shows always showcase all the experts who are happy to dig thru boxes of items and tell the buyer how much it is all worth, while getting nothing for it.
In MY world... I found a Gucci watch one time and I wanted to see if it was authentic or a knock-off before trying to sell it. I took it to the Gucci store in the Galleria mall in north Dallas and they not only wouldn't give me the time of day but, they literally wouldn't look at the watch. All I got from them was, "You didn't buy that here... we won't look at it."
I bet if I had a camera crew walk in with me they would have treated me like Julia Roberts in Pretty woman where the entire staff at the Beverly Hills shop kissed her a$$. lol
