Yes, my heart go out to the children. People get down and out and sometimes they just don’t know where to turn or how to jump through all the formalities and requirements to get necessary help.

We've had a couple attempts by tenants at trying to live in a unit but never someone with children. There are plenty of questions that will need to be answered not only by the mother but also by extra space employees.

Saw this the other day too, so sad. Like already stated I have heard of adults living in units before but never had I imagined people letting children live in there. 5 and 10 years-old, hopefully they were at the age where it was kind of cool in there eyes, sort of like a little adventure and not a traumatizing experience.

Sounds like the mother was a little bit crazy as is, ill be curious to hear about what happens to these boys.

Not surprising in regard to the Extra Space employees. My nearest competitor is an ES, and I have many tenants that used to rent there and moved to me because they were uncomfortable in the hallways with other tenants. I often explain to potential customers that many of the large corporations bonus their employees based on occupancy figures, so if a person shows up with 3 teeth, bolt cutters on their belt and smelling of ether, odds are they'll get a unit at some of these big places. Now I can add to my story that they can even show up with kids and open a daycare.

Hey all. I live in NJ and heard this on the news. The saddest part is, when that woman left to go and slash her boyfriends tires, she LOCKED the boys IN the storage unit!! Can you imagine how scared they were when someone from ES was cutting the lock?
    What a shame!!!!

This is just horrible. Those poor boys, my heart goes out to them. I hope they have family to take them in and give them the love and a home to live in that they deserve!!

Wow... That's really sad... At least she opened her mouth though... because she could of tried to avoid further prosecution and left that a secret... It's very sad and negligent that a mother would come to the point of leaving her children in a storage unit.. but I have to say, at least she wasn't selfish enough to just leave them there in hopes that she'd get out in time to save them.
