I am fairly new to the industry however through my research thus far I am having trouble locating Franchise Opportunities for Self Storage?

Specifically a company who franchises out their expertise and marketing to assist you, in return they receive a revenue royalty?

Anyone know of any Rocky Mountain regions?

Jason; Over the years, several firms have tried to market franchises, and the most successful was Storage USA (Now Extra Space). Payless Car Rental looked hard at it, and to the best of my knowledge, there might be some play in SLC at Extra Space to revitalize franchise, but I am not certain. You might contact James Overturf, the PR/IR Dorector at Extra Space. There are numerous consultants in the industry, many of them post right here in the forum (just look at the profiles of posts and you can see some more info on the person responding).

You will find that a good feasibility consultant, design-build firm, and management company (likely three seperate entities) can get you pretty close to a franchise arrangement, or you could try a joint venture.

I have heard, but don't have any first hand knowledge that garage town GarageTown: Storage Ownership does offer some sort of joint ventures on building condo style rv and industrial storage. It might be worth a phone call or e-mail to see if they have something that might fit your needs.
