Question Help! I'm just an auditor!

I am an Internal Auditor who happens to work for a company that owns self-storage facilities. I am looking for audit programs or any information, suggestions, or stories of experiences in this field that can give me an idea of what my best approach is. Muchos gracias for any info you can send this way.

Default Audit Role is Critical Function to a Store's Success!

Lvandame;

Please don’t sell yourself short. I consider audits one of the most important management functions. It gives a good manager the chance to prove that they are doing everything right. It gives the company that opportunity to reinforce areas that the audit shows are minor problems and it also helps to root out the very small percentage of employees who think that the business is their own “piggy bank”.

I suggest that you look at the Inside Self Storage archive search on their home page that allows you to search the past 8 to 10 years of the magazine’s articles. You can get to the site by click on the ISS Magazine. In the upper right hand corner, just type in audits and you will be surprised by the number of excellent articles written by some of the industry’s best experts available to you free of charge.

Also, if you click on the Self Storage Training Institute link on the right hand column, you will be taken to their website. Look at their Audiocasts under Facility Operations and Management and you will find an excellent session by Carol Krendl, SkilCheck Services Inc. This 45 minute session includes a 29 page manual all for just $24.95. You can get a sample of her presentation and the handout materials by clicking on the links on that page.

Best of luck as you move forward, but never forget hoe critical a link you are in the current and future success of the business.
