Default Hello from Scotland

Hi Everyone,

We are based in Dundee and Glasgow; Scotland. We have a whopping 40ft Kangaroo sign on our building, which makes us memorable. Unfortunately we're often asked if we store kangaroo's - the price of fame!
Look forward to getting to know you and to learning how the US experts promote their businesses.

Steven

Hello Steven:
So glad you have joined us, welcome to this side of the pond. I would be interested in hearing more details about your operation and how self-storage is developing in Scotland. Please feel free to contact me (efoxwell@vpico.com.) Every year in November we publish a U.K./Europe supplement.

Default What's in the Pouch?

Steven:

The kangaroo can be an awesome marketing image. Have you considered finding a source of a stuffed animal? Like TY Beanie Babies? You could have great fun using it as a well gift with the rental agreement and other promotions in the kangaroo’s pouch. You also might consider developing a kid’s coloring book that could be given to prospects or buying a quantity of kangaroo nature picture books to have in the office. If you are giving people specials or discounts for moving in – have a line of 3 or 4 large kangaroos on your office desk. In each pouch is a different rental incentive. The people get to pick their kangaroo and win that incentive. Just might add a bit of fun to the rental process.

Glad to have you onboard the SSTalk site.

All my best,
MisterJim444

Hi MisterJim444,

Thanks for the great ideas and for sharing them with me. I particularly like the 3-4 large kangaroos with different rental agreements - you've got me thinking all sorts of ideas!
We do have a childrens play area with soft toy kangaroos and colouring books - they love it. We also give away T-shirts, boomerangs, kangaroo de-stress balls and keyrings.
We also use a photo of 3 kangaroos "talking" on our referral incentive cards which works wells.

Thanks again for the ideas, please let me know if you have any others.

Steven.

Red face

completely off topic, but I was listening to one of my favorite groups this weekend while on a road trip: The Proclaimers. A great Scottish duet!

Welcome to the self-storage forum. You have to keep us informed of self-storage politics and what-nots. We're all curious!

Drew,

I can tell you're a person of considerable taste and refinement. It's impossible to not sing-a-long to The Proclaimers - you must have had a great road trip.
I will let you know of any political intrigue that I hear of - nothing at the moment.

Steven.
