Default California - Nothern/Central Coast

Hi,

I'm Gina, and I was antsy about responding to some posters here. It took me awhile to finally log on and get started. Now I fear I have already run amok on the boards.

I fell into storage after a huge layoff in Silicon Valley in the 90s. What I thought would be a temporary layover before landing my next 'corporate position' has turned into over 14 years in this industry.

Fortunately, I fell into an enviable situation and work for some fantastic gentlemen. Otherwise I wouldn't still be here!

We've recently completely redone our website, although there are still components to be filled in and more features we want to add in. My husband (not employed in self-storage) has his own company and creates websites for customers and maintains our own servers. The auto mechanics' car is always the last one to be maintained right? The same holds true for us, I need to finish up the content and logo. Time! I need more time!!!

I've enjoyed this industry and the learning opportunities that are out there now. Avail yourself of them when you can. It really helps.

I wish everyone well in their endeavors. Thanks ISS for providing the forum.

Default Hi Gina6K and Welcome

We are glad to have you as a part of this growing community. I have read all of your posts and think they are great. I would like permission to use your "cleaning the doors" comments with every manager that I know. I look forward to your continued insights and ideas drawing on your years of storage experience.

All my best,

MisterJim444

Aww shucks! Thanks MisterJim.

Rats! I knew I should have copyrighted the postings before I submitted them!

Absolutely yes, feel free to use the comments! It took us awhile, but there was one day we were surveying the dusty hallway doors and decided to try something new on one door; the Pledge I had under my kitchen sink.

The doors sparkled so nicely that I ran out and bought a dozen cans and we did them all. Now Pledge (just because we know it works) is always in our supply unit.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I look forward to learning more from everyone. I've read all of your posts since day one, they're great and very helpful.

Warm wishes,
Gina
