    Default Selling Insurance

If your facility offers optional insurance, I am curious how you sell it. For example, what is your pitch, what part of the rental do you present it, etc? What is your secret to sucess with selling insurance?

Offering an insurance product is one of the most important things a storage does. If you don't believe me, just google " Cregg V. Ministor Ventures (1983) "

The best way is to offer the first month free. Then when they later ask about canceling tell them its no problem if they provide you with their own certificate of insurance. Usually does the trick. Most rental agreements I've seen have this provision.

An excellent idea! Definately thinking out of the box! I also LOVE the disclaimer on your advice!

    Thanks for responding!

Advice? What advice? Dr. Phil gives advice. I just randomly ramble for no particular purpose .

As Chuck says, our industry offers insurance to it's customers, as we are not registered insurance agents. This is an ongoing point of contention between property managers and companies.
