Default Interesting Community-Relations Event

National Self Storage in Horizon City, Texas, is hosting a school-uniform swap at its facility this month. I'm always on the lookout for unique self-storage marketing ideas, and I like this outside-the-box approach to community relations.

Most of you have schools in your area, andn there must be hundreds of ways you can work collaboratively with the administration to host an event, help out the school, and bring in students, their parents and other community members. Any ideas you want to share?

Here's a link to the uniform swap release if you'd like to read more:

Default Community Shred a Community Relations Event

Saw an article in the Wall Street Journal yesterday about community shreds. You hire a mobile shredding truck and invite everyone out to shred sensitive documents.

We are going to work with our city parks director and have our community shred in one of our parks. A carnival type atmosphere around the shredding truck, face painting, balloons hot dogs and stuff....should be a blast!

Read the article on WSJ.com seach community shred...

Default Community Day

Back at the end of May my little town of Lafayette. NY held its first day of fun in the park. We co-sponosored a large colorful blow-up bouncer for the kids. Got a sweet price from another local business man. Hung my banner on the side for all to see. Kids had a swell time - parents enjoyed watching their kids too.

Also, have registered to "adopt" one mile of road where we are located. Just waiting for the signs to be posted. The signs are blue and one sign is placed to mark the beginnning and another sign marks the end point of the "adopted" mile.
