They could be a good sources of referrals.
Vrpetty;
Nursing Homes can actually provide you two sources of referrals. The first is when people are making that difficult initial decision regarding their loved ones. In most cases, the family is moving someone from an existing residence in the area to the Nursing Home. If you have taken the time to get to know the Administer of the Home and his/her staff, they will refer people directly to you using personally literature that you have prepared with the name of the Home directly on your literature.
The second referral source is unfortunately when the resident has passed and the family is faced with a very short time frame to remove the personal things for the person from the Home. Again you stand ready to help the family at this very difficult time.
The key is in how you approach to Home staff and make sure that they fully appreciate all that you are willing to do to assist the family. You might even offer to be available to have an employee come over to the Home to meet with the family right at their offices. Helping with detailed questions like insurance and simple instructions to make the entire process of renting a unit as easy as possible will go a long way to generate new business.
Best of luck with this marketing outreach. Let us know how you do.
All my best,
