Lightbulb Marketing to Truckers

They're always on the move. Some tend to run the same routes often. They might need places to store items while they're out on the road.

If a lot of truckers pass through your city/town/community, do you do anything to market specifically to them?

Thanks to Autodoc for giving me the idea to start this thread.

My husband and I used to manage a lease up right next to ports 67 & 68 at the Port of Oakland....(fun area)...

Anyway, we ended up doing quite a bit of business with those "rolling residents".

They were great tenants, usually had small units!

We have a few -- never really marketed to them.

They are an interesting bunch as most are constantly late, but always pay up in full.

We work with them as we know they are on the road most of the time, and when they are not they aren't making any money!

My experience has been very good with the Rolling Residents. (I Love that Shae) They usually go on auto debit since they are out of town all of the time.

I have never marketed to them specifically as I am not sure how you would?? Maybe put something in the Local Truck Stops? We have one down the road. I think I will do that!

Great thread and great idea!!

I was definitely thinking truck stops. A lot of the truck stops have their own little publications, too, that the truckers pick up and read. It can't be expensive to throw an ad with a discount coupon in those things.

Also, if there is an industrial park or a trucking center in your area, that might be a good outlet to market to them, as well.

Amazing how truckers have kind of there own subculture. I did a cross-country drive a little over a month ago and felt like a trucker for a few days -- ate in a couple of truck stops for cheap. It was interesting.
