Talking Hello John

Hi John, nice to meet you. I would agree with all the other messages but I have one to add "THIER ENTIRE LIFE STORY". This I always find interesting, especially when the husband has run off with his wifes best friends.... wait for it..............Husband. As entertaining as it is, it really does not help when the other line is ringing and you already have her deposit payment! Anyone else with any good ones?

Wink Keith-

Good to meet you as well...

While I will agree that sometimes prospective customers monopolize phone time with endless details, I always consider that the majority of these folks are requesting my assistance during a life crisis of some sort and need a compassionate ear on the other end of the line. Listening politely to a minute or two of the "Life Story" often evolves into a degree of trust towards you as the storage manager. This trust frequently translates into a space rental, and in many cases a long-term, referral-generating patron is born.

Of course, there are those times when you are the unwilling recipient of every detail surrounding Uncle Homer's axe-murdering cousin's gender-reassignment surgery... definitely TMI...

Smile Customers needs

Hi John, I could not agree more. We have always gone the extra mile for our customers and it has paid dividens. Our % of customers that come to us throw word of mouth is usually around 30% to 35%. All advertising cost a fortune, but a nice smile and a helpful hand is free. We have spread this message on to our staff and it seems to be infectious. It also make it a nice place to work.

Wink Thanks, Joel:

Actually, I did complete that study, and expect to provide a specific marketing tool utilizing some of the data. Look for it by 01/09.
