Only asking others on the SST forum to like!! We're having the same problem, just started adding to our really sketchy Facebook page!! Am going to ask our DM if we can give $5 off rent for those who like us on Facebook...but I'm not sure $5 will be enough incentive for some...maybe have a drawing from all the tenants who "Like" for a free month's rent?? Will have to run this by him & see if we can get tenants involved...right now it's managers, asst mgrs family & friends that have liked...sigh....so much to do so little time!

Well...for one you have to get 25 likes so that your page can have it's own URL.

How do you go about creating a facebook for your storage business? I am on facebook and would like to have Shenandoah Storage Connection on facebook too!

Basically you set up your business page as you would your personal page... Or within your personal page you can create a page for your business and then somehow get people to like it to increase your visibility.

Does this help... If not I can explain in greater detail with the necessary steps.

Be very careful about how you set up your facebook page. They have very strict rules concerning business accounts. Facebook is designed specifically for personal accounts and each person is only allowed to have one 'account'. So, if you have an account already, just simply add a 'page' to your account. You will become the administrator for the account. Your personal info stays seperate from your business page so none of your info gets crossed. Go to the help section of your facebook page and just type 'business account' it should answer all your questions.

There's no special technique per se. In the past, something that has worked for our business is offering an incentive for liking our page. For example, we would giveaway a free one year membership to our site, USSelfStorageLocator.com to a facility and a $50 gas card to a customer every time we got 100 likes. I found that we would climb 100 or so like about every week and a half before we stopped the promotion.
