Re: Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Social Media Optimixation (SMO) for Business
We get a huge amount of our calls and tenants from our website.
Some of the things that we have done is add to google maps, yahoo places, things like that.
If a website is properly optomized it's a great marketing tools.
My husband has a business and when we put up our website and optomized it with keywords, it paid for itself in one week. We couldn't believe the instant business we gained from it.
I belong to the Marketing Guirella's mailings and they have said that if you don't have a good content filled, and optimized website, you are giving away business to your competitor.
Good luck!

Re: Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Social Media Optimixation (SMO) for Business
The majority of our business comes from paid and organic search, and social media plays into that. It is invaluable. Especially with the growth in mobile. You have to figure a good majority of the people who need storage just search what's closest to them. So the more you can do to make yourself stand out in those results, the better.
I wrote this post on how to make your facility stand out visually on SERPs (search engine results pages) using Google Plus. Take a look if you'd like:

Have you checked to make sure your site is optimized for the mobile user?
There are 234 million Americans using mobile phones; 110 million of which are smartphones.
95% of mobile users search for local information
61% call after searching
90% act within 24 hours
These customers are your dream sales conversions: have you made your site easy for them to find and navigate? Is your site on page 1? Is your number easy to find? Can a mobile user reserve - and pay for - a unit FROM their phone?
Mobile websites, after implementation, have created anywhere from 23%-200% increase in business. So...does your site look like this on a mobile phone? http://www.jacksonvilleselfstoragefl.com/mobile/Be found!
