Bob- I understand, the internet isn't the best place to discuss political opinions. In case you are not aware, "defending your argument" does not mean that there has to be confrontation. Defending your words just means that statements you make can be backed up with fact or further background. My mention of you defending your statements was only to see if you had further information as opposed to just your feelings. As two parties defend their statements, both parties can learn new things. This is how and why debate teams exist, there is no "arguing" per se, but they do have to "defend" their stance on the matter. Typically, both sides have good points to make.
