Default Ice Machines

We have an onsite Polar Ice Machine that sells an average of 125 20 lb bags of ice a day for $2.00 a bag. It has been a great draw and a boost for the income of the facility. Does anyone else have one of these?

I've seen one of these in a parking lot b4, was wondering do you have drive-up for it and did you have to allow more parking spaces nearby since you sell so much?

Pat,
We have this machine next to our boat/rv parking and is highly visable from the road,
you can drive up to the machine and help yourself. Lots of small business folks are regulars, landscapers, construction and folks going fishing. The machines run around $100k for machine and setup.

Do you have an idea of how many days per year you average this amount of sales? I would also be interested in know what it costs in terms of product, electricity, etc.

If you could sell 125 bags per day for 250 days per year thats a pretty good return on your money assuming the cost is not to high. Heck if it costs you 50% of the sale price it is still a good return, 3 years or so to recover the initial investment?

Did I read that right? $100,000 for an ice machine?

...a quick Google proves that that is right. I had no idea.
