Wall Street Journal's take on the 'Average' American and their 2013 tax increase
Ok, I'm a Canadian so when I see the picto below in the Wall Street Journal depicting an 'average' American family and the effects of tax hikes my jaw drops. I then sommersault across the room and go into a crazy rant (my poor coworkers). Am I off my rocker? I'd love to be an 'average' family and I even promise to smile.

I don't think, I know I got short changed. Maybe in New York the average person makes this kind of salary, but not down here. But then again maybe they do and I have been isolated from reality too long. My two retirement incomes and full time income don't come anywhere near what the retired couple make. Might as well give up and apply for welfare now so I can retire.

I wish I made close to those amounts. Its bad enough I'm single and have received a significant tax hike (almost twice as much is taxes is being deducted from my paychecks now. Yay!)

Keeping up with the Joneses never seemed more unobtainable than after viewing this when you posted it on Facebook. I'd like to meet this "average" American family. If we brought in half the amount for married w/kids I'd be dancing on tabletops! Maybe we should all print this out and send it off to our owners and see what kind of raises occur, because holy smokes Batman, we are way undervalued based on these numbers!
I think you were right, the folks at the WSJ had to be smoking something and I think I'd like some too! But I promise, I won't inhale and I'll wear a cheesy smile too. LOL!

Please consider the source... the WSJ. I wonder how some other publications would characterize the "average American," if indeed there is an average American. good grief.
