Madman:
It is great to see that of the 29 folks that voted over 72% of folks have been working in the industry 3 years or older. While I don't think we will ever determine that figure for our entire industry, it is strong testimony for the depth of day-to-day operations knowledge that we are blessed with within the SSTalk community. And to think not one of us started out with a life goal of being in the self storage industry.

Re: Longevity of a storage position
Actually Mister Jim, I had dreams of being in self storage when I was in the womb!!!! I couldn't wait to get out, grow up, and start listening to delinquent customers tell me why their reason for being late again this month is special and therefore entitled them to have their late fee waived!!!!

This is a very interesting poll . I wish there would be a way to quantify the relationship between performance and the length of time an employee has been on a particular location .

Almost done with my 16th year, though it is a family business so while I don't own the facility to do run it at this point. Was only 15 when we built our first building.
