Rental truck info. needed
We are considering renting Budget trucks and would like to hear feedback from other managers who have experience with doing this type of truck rentals. Is the profit worth all the extra work? What are the up and down sides for a manager?

We rent Uhaul. From my limited experience, I have found that it can sometimes be the most time consuming, least profitable aspect of what we do. However, the support is great, offering the service to tenants, and exposure have been much more valuable. I keep it for the latter.

Rental trucks
We rent Penske trucks and have had a very good relationship with them. We rent quite a few units to people dropping off trucks. The business does go hand in hand with storage. Penske has been quite profitable for the company and as a manager it adds $125 to $275 commission to my check. I would highly recommend looking into Penske if you are considering adding truck rentals. None of their trucks are over 3 years old and their maintenance is second to none.

Penske
As a Penske Agent, I agree totally!! They do have the best equipment and our commission bonuses have added up too. It was very frustrating in the beginning because I didn't have a CLUE what I was doing!! LOL!! But now, I love it!! Also they have the best 24/7 Roadside Assistance!

Rental Truck Companies
I agree with MusicCity Gal, Penske has the best equipment. Uhaul while their equipment may at times be lacking has some benefits in the form of an incredibly powerful website to lever off of and can offer you your own truck with your graphics on the truck at nominal cost.

u haul rentals
we have been u-haul dealers for several years and even though at times it is work, it has also provided a lot of extra income...one advantage of u-haul is the extra income from trailers and renting auto transporters or tow dollys behinds the customers vehicles in addition to the truck rentals, you can earn extra income by reserving storage units for your customers nation wide, get a co-star branded truck with your facities profile on it, use their web based storage system + discounts with other things. I would be happy to have someone from u-haul call you to go over the earnings with you....
