What is a good idea for a banner above your moving supplies. I know it could say something like protect secure store but I would like sumthing diffrent to intise customers to buy products. Help Me

try something like " Pack it Properly", "Let us help you save money", anything to get their attention. As a sales tool, try putting together a box/suppply kit for a 5 x 5 Unit, a 5 x 10, etc and giving them a discount if they buy the package. We have found that to be very helpful for the customers as many do not know how many boxes they will need, how to lable them, how to tape them, etc. and profitable for us.

Many of your supply vendors can and will help you with this and I would look up past articles in the ISS magazine to help you get some ideas.

That is an awesome idea about the package special. I think we may put something together like that here.

We also have the 'we sell boxes' display by the road with a red, blinking light that has really caught peoples attention. And we bought bright orange construction paper and posted our box prices in large print and placed them in our front window, this has increased our visibility for moving supplies. Chateau has a "Moving & Packing Supplies" banner that works nicely on the front of our office.

One other thing we advertise is if a customer buys in bulk, we give a small discount, usually 10%. But that is only if they are purchasing entire bundles of certain sizes. This has helped greatly. When we took over this facility merchandise totals per month were around $200-300. We now average between $1000-1200 per month. Not to shabby of an increase.

I'm looking for a source for boxes which include printing - seems a great way to get our name out there since boxes are often reused

we offer many tips and tricks to make the most out of a customers storage space. To help sell boxes, we say that by buying $30 to $40 worth of boxes and packing more efficiently, they can actually rent less space. Boxes are cheap compared to the increased monthly cost for a larger unit.

We feel this "looking out for our customers best interest" sends the right message. Also, people who care about their stuff enough to pack it in boxes and label it are more likely to pay rent and eventually complete a move out form when they are done, thus completing the storage cycle.

This increases the likelihood of this being a repeat customer in the future.
