Default Why did you select your management software?

I am curious to know what were the factors that influenced your decision to purchase your management software.

Please take the poll and make any comments that you may have.

Thanks!

I guess I am the first to voice my opinion.

We use Storage Commander (transfered from DOS based Domico about 2 years ago!)

We love this software and the tech support is great!

I think most select software based upon what others use. "If its OK for XYZ" then its OK for me!

I would encourage anyone to take the time to see what's on offer. There is some great software out there. There is also software that is well past its "use by" date....

Have to voice my opinion, with over 42 facilities under our management program we use the Winsen program. Great Tech support, good price, good features, easy to use, good reports.

ask for demos and let the person or people who will use the software most often try it out. I suspect user comfort is at least as important as features. As a security vendor, my company is software agnostic and the hardware is built to integrate with the software of the customer's choice, even if it's software from someone who also makes hardware.

The software is only as good as the individual's ability to use it correctly.

I think Alex make a good point. If you don't know how to use the software or more importantly take the time to find out then the investment made in products used is diminished.

Over the years, I have been involved in many hundreds of data conversions from software brands to others and I am astonished at the lack of data accuracy not only in the software but client data. I have written about this in ISS a few times.

The misreporting of key data like debtors and prepayments is high in my view. The problem is that sites don't know their data is wrong. One conversion I did 5 years ago was out by 100k!

I was talking to a site yesterday. They said it would be good if they could do WEB payments. I reminded them that the software they use has been able to complete WEB payments for nearly 5 years!

Knowledge is king and those that take the time to fully understand the products they use put themselves in a position of sucess.

Those that do usualy move on to better things....
