Talking Credit Cards and storage software

Hi ya'll

we just MIGHT be open for business by the end of Feb. and am signing up for credit cards this week.... gonna use some software program instead of a swipe card..... it is supposed to batch for me automatically and all that.... NEW stuff - ugh... learning curve ahead!

Also, I will be using Blue moon for texas and have checked out sitelink and others... too expensive right now.... any alternative advice for keeping tracK?

As a manager I can tell you -- get the best site software you can afford -- it will be money well spent! The better the software the easier it will make your life!

We use Storage Commander and love it!

If you have any questions free to contact me anytime.

I have worked with Space Control, Rent Plus, Taskmaster, and Sitelink. Sitelink Web Edition is the best software out there. Check out their website, a good amount of "Facilities of The Year" are using Sitelink.

You really need to analyze software carefully. None work perfectly. Take it from someone who has survived a software conversion, you do not want to switch after having picked one.

webselfstorage from Emove has embedded credit card processing and auto batch properties, so that should answer the question.

it also has the texas bluemoon integrated and should be fine. I think it is $45 a month and comes with free upgrades and tech support.

"Too expensive right now" frequently means "we'll never buy it" and in the case of software, that is a mistake. It's a tool that makes managing your facility more, well, more manageable. Something is only an expense if it costs you money; the right management software will contribute to your bottom line by making operations more efficient and less time-consuming.

WebSelfStorage, by Emove (U-Haul) is great!!! Low cost, all the bells and whistles that you would expect and then some, and I think you get a pretty decent internet presence as well with the software. I know we got 6-8 storage units rented a month from their website when we worked for a company that had WebSelfStorage. The credit card processing fees are very low. I would have no reservations about recommending it.

Lisa,

Thanks for the info. I like the WebSelfStorage's approach of integrating everything and therefore dealing with just one company for all operations needs.

Their low merchant account fees should contribute to the bottom line a lot becuase more customers are looking for auto pay and credit/debit card payments.
