We use Sitelink at all of our newer sites. (At the older sites we use MSTC.)
Sitelink covers all the necessary bases and the reports are pretty decent.

Sitelink isn't perfect. There is certainly room for improvement. But it does get the job done.

I've used SiteLink and WebSelfStorage in the past, currently using Centershift Store. I'd rate them as #1 SiteLink, #2 WebSelfStorage, and a distant #3 Centershift Store.

There are many headaches with Store's functionality, such as it doesn't make change, so unless you are confident doing it in your head, you have a calculator by your keyboard, and it also won't let you enter a check for more then the amount of the payment. So if someone owes $77.07 and they mail you a check for $80.00, you enter the check payment in twice, once for $77.07 and then another payment for $2.93 (I did this today)...Store is ok, but it's all the little things it doesn't do or doesn't do right that drives me crazy.

Thumbs up Sitelink

I use sitelink software to manage our sites and it best fits our needs in the form of adding and modifying our own units, multiple databases (we have a separate database for each site), being able to adjust our own rents, composing custom letters and the boss loves the report details. I have become quite knowledgeable working my way around in the software, but I am still trying to configure it correctly to email reports. With the tech support I just have to email and they call me back within a reasonable amount of time, if I have a problem that can not wait (like when I learned how to comstom the same letter to each database) all I have to do is call in and get the help right then. Exporting feature is really nice too.

We almost got the storage commander, it was a toss between that and sitelink. Definitely the reports have been great for informing the boss on how things are doing and who is doing what.

Default Sitelink

We use Sitelink. Have also used WinSen & Quikstor. I like most of the features of Sitelink but there are some things that don't work correctly and they are not willing to fix them. Have talked to them several times over the past two years and yet not change. Still better than the other two I've used.
We installed PTI keypad software at our two new stores. While the keypads work great with little trouble, the customer service is the worst I've ever experienced. They generally don't respond to you. The software's "event viewer" that allows you to see that activity on the keypads is much worse than WinSen. WinSen is very easy to use and search. As far as I know, PTI does not have this function which makes things difficult. In the end, I would never, ever recommend PTI to anyone. Just wanted to get the word out.

thanks for that input -- I got a quote from them a while back -- now they call about every other month wanting to know the status. I keep telling them times are slow and the owner is waiting for things to pick up

I would like to hear if others are having the same problems -- maybe we will re-think our security upgrades???

Just goes to show that people can have different experiences with the same company. We had a problem just the other day, called PTI, and we were very impressed with the knowledge of the technician and the degree to which they helped us. Now that's the only time I've ever contacted them, so maybe I just caught them on a good day?

We have the Sitelink program and I think it is very user friendly. Any questions I have had in the past they were able to walk me through and were friendly.

Question Pti

I am looking at purchasing PTI's full package. Software, Gate system, PVR. Anyone running the same PTI system with any success? How was the setup and how is the support from PTI with the initial setup?

Default Sitlelink

We use sitelink at all seven of our locations. It is an easy software to learn and use. I wish there were more options in their map and that there was more flexibility.

Overall we like the software. We use the PC based version and are considering upgrading to the web based but it appears to be expensive.
