Saturday and Sunday as long as it doen't snow or assistant doesn't call in sick. Also get at least one three day sometimes four day weekend a month. You know it takes a while to get lost in the mountains and find your way back.

My wife and I get Sunday and Monday off. We were suppose to get one Saturday a month off but that never happened. It's ok though because I would rather be here when it's a busy day.

You mean you're supposed to get a day off in this business?? I have never heard of that!! LOL!!

We are on call 24/7, but our "days off" are Sunday and Monday. Now if I could just find someone to work on Monday!! Would you believe I have went thru two part timers and have an ad right now trying to find someone!! It is SO HARD to find someone to work one day a week!!!!

LOL! We also went thru two part timers before we ended up keeping our original part timer. She was suppose to go work for our old management company, but instead we got to keep her!!

I am also looking for a part-timer for one day a week. It's so hard to find someone who is serious about working for just 1 day....they may start out ok, but then, it's easy with noone supervising them for them to get on facebook & ebay & forget about picking up trash on the lot! I can understand why some facilities forbid their employees to get on the internet---I truly believe some are addicted (however, it's fine to be addicted to SST!) Seriously, SST is informative & can help you become a better manager (necessary for those of us who couldn't go to Vegas!)

It might be worth the extra payroll $$$ to hire the person for 2 days a week (like a college student or a retiree), and spend the extra day you have with someone else in the office doing off-site marketing.

Yes, Jacksewell we get scheduled times off... HOWEVER, it never fails that a customer will interrupt your chores, tie you up on your way out the door for shopping or a romantic dinner out, or the relief will knock on the door and then there goes your time off for good behavior. So before ya go gettin' all jealous of the time off... realize it ain't really time off. So who are you workin' for that you don't get any time off?! Ha-ha, if only we truly had time off away from the jobs huh?

T'was once a noble scribe who wrote: "Tis such a pity that one should have to sell a large portion of his own lifetime to another in order to have a small portion of it for himself."

Just kidding! We get all the time off we ask for.

Heck, We're livin' the dream. We've been doing this the better part of 8 years.

We retired 3 years ago but came back into the business because we missed it.

I generally work 5 1/2 days a week. (Saturday's are 9-12 and my Dad will usually work every other Saturday) Sundays are closed-- but the calls are forwarded to my cell phone 24/7.

Actually my weekends go better when I work on Saturday-- if not I am in my jammies from Friday PM to Sunday PM thinking-- oh I have all weekend to get that done!

I am also starting to look for some relief help. I am thinking they need to work about 8-10 hours per week to keep in the know. Wondering what I will be able to find?
