Re: Hot job??? NOT!
A certain type of couple? Sounds like they are looking for idiots. What state? In CA she would be making 2/3 of the normal rental value of the home not to exceed $451.89 per month. That was as of 2008 and is likely still current as the amount does not change every year. I have to admit I don't have the 2012 poster yet so it could have gone up a bit. I have new ones coming.

Re: Hot job??? NOT!
It was Texas...and used double-wides don't rent for much in Texas. You notice the ad didn't mention utilities...so my guess is that they aren't included, or else they would have listed the free utilities instead of the shade trees as an enticement.

OMG.
What a strange ad.
I wonder what "manage in a limited fashion" means.

Re: Hot job??? NOT!
It usually means "you won't be paid much" but will have to do everything a self storage manager is normally expected to do.

Re: Hot job??? NOT!
In this one, it's "you won't be paid anything" ....whatcha wanna bet, in exchange for no pay, benefits, vacation, worker's comp, etc and free rent on a used double-wide, that they also dictate the hours (40+) and require the "stay-at-home" person to work most holidays and weekends?
I know I have seen this same ad before over the years....since it popped back up again, I thought I would share it this time.

Re: Hot job??? NOT!
Regrettably you are right, time and time again I have responded to ads where the employer is trying to make his bottom line all too rewarding. Especially now that the "haves" think they have the "havenots" over a barrel I am offered positions that are compensated with "free" rent and utilities and little in the way of true salary. Being on call as a resident manager does not qualify as anywhere near free in my opinion, and you will never be able to retire on wages that are less than those paid while drawing unemployment.

"One person being the major bread winner and works offsite" Right there it tells you - Don't figure on getting rich here....just a place to live with extra responsiblilites.
