We have never worked for them, but we were offered a position and unfortunately we didn't take it. The base pay is okay plus you get a bonus on all supplies you sell plus uhaul so its not too bad. Plus they offer health and life insurance and vacation. We were pretty stupid when we said no thanks. I was hung up on the apartment having no outside place to relax plus they had 3 dogs and birds. They did say they would get the apartment professionally cleaned, but again....I was STUPID!! They do seem like a real good company.

Thanks so much for your feeback, it does indeed sound like a very good company, and they are not afraid for you to talk with there current managers, in fact
they encourage it. Did they give you any idea on the starting salary for the site they offered you? I know that it varies from site to site.
    Thanks again for your reply.

I don't remember the starting salary, but I think it was somewhere around $3k per month, plus all the bonuses you can get. They do a review after 1 year and you may receive an increase. I do remember you can earn additional days off each month. They have floating managers who come in and work your store when you have days off or vacation time. Again...it REALLY seems like a great company. We did meet the President and he is a really nice person. He had a team from another store take us out to dinner and then we met him after and had our interview with him and his assistant. If we had it to do all over again, I would say YES to a job offer. They have a great marketing system and they give you training time and just seem to care what their managers have to say.

From StrongTeam's description, Personal Mini Storage does seem like a really good company to work for. Seldom do you get superiors who listen to you on every aspect. And by getting the opportunity to meet the president and being taken out for dinner, just go to show how close and comfortable the company made you feel even before you join their team. Well, it is such a pity that you, StrongTeam, had to reject their offer. However, if it is already fated that you should work for them, there will always be a second chance for you. For franchesam, good luck!

Don't feel so bad Strongteam...We managed 2 different storage facilities, both with no outside space...one with an incredibly small apartment on top of the office....after living there 3 years, it was like prison! We got to the point that we hated every minute of living there...which is not good for job satisfaction or life satisfaction. We live off-site now in a huge 3 bedroom apartment with balcony, overlooking a 5 acre lake with fountains, a walking path around the lake, and a resort-style swimming pool, among many other amenities. I would have to be desperate to take a job offer with living "over the office" again. It may seem like you passed up a golden opportunity, but it can get really depressing really fast feeling like you are a robot who is supposed to go upstairs and turn yourself off until the office opens again tomorrow morning. I hope that people building storage facilities with residences nowadays put a little better planning into the resident. Though the really awful one we lived in for 3 years was built in 2002, not that long ago.

I couldn’t agree more about the design. Before a facility is built, the owner, planner, designer, engineer and district manager should be required to LIVE & WORK at a facility.
    Did I forget anybody?
    Oh, there spouse also!

Thanks Lisa T, we now know we are probably better off not taking that position. We are now living in a 18 hole golf course community with a swimming poo and hot tub, restaurant and bar, its gated and secure, we have a work out room and billiards room, we have a golf cart that we use to drive around when we get home. Its even a 55+ community, which we just barely made the age....lol. We really like our job, but we are still looking at finding a better position with a company that appreciates their staff. I believe living off site in a resort style community helps with my attitude about working. I know that I am working hard so I can go home and enjoy all the amenities my community has to offer. AND we have wonderful outdoor space that is filled with flowers and a great area that we can sit and enjoy life.
