Thread: Looking for unique training opportunities

Hello,

I am searching for unique training options to enhance my contributions as a self storage manager. I attended the conference in Vegas last year, and know that is the 'standard' for our industry. However, I'm looking at other options. For example, training or conferences focused on sales, marketing, etc. I've done some google searching, but there is SO MUCH out there that I feel like I need some assistance in narrowing them down. And, these need to be in-person, not webinars or online.

Besides the Vegas show, what other training events do you or would you recommend?

Reading self storage marketing books is one of the cheapest ways to gain the wisdom and experiences of the others.

I am a bit more of an experiential learner, so while reading is a good option, I am looking more for seminars or conferences I can attend.

Jim, your state association may have what you are looking for in terms of experiential learning. I know that ours, here in CA, offers all kinds of workshops... unfortunately for me, they are almost always at the other end of our super large state.

Thanks for the suggestion. However, we don't have a state association. In fact, that something I've been working on for the last few months.
