Default Dealing with insanity!

I have been having the most interesting morning. I have had a crazy women phoning me relentlesly for hours now claiming she store's here ( she doesn't ) and that I through her stuff out and now she's calling the cops, the press, even our local MP. This situation would be laughable if not for the fact this women is obviously insane. She literally snarled like an animal a few times and goes off on mumble tangents.

I don't know what the heck to do about this. I can't keep arguing with her all day and I'm starting to lose my temper. Its busy here and she keeps calling and calling and its affecting my customer service and fouling my mood. I'm quite ready to break things to be honest.

Last thing the cops need in this city is too waste time on a case like this, but what to do? I am being harassed plain and simple and don't know what to do about it.

Do you have caller ID? Also, if she's loopy, just hang up, or (you didn't hear me say this) snap back just a little. If you choose to snap, make sure you do it well, but with nothing pointed or that can come back to haunt you. Just let your usual, top notch, service slide a bit. A simple "look lady, I don't know what on Earth you're talking about." Odds are the cops already know this individual is nuts, and the poor customer service may stop the calls (not that I have any experience with these kinds of things). Best bet is just laugh.

No caller ID sadly. Hanging up has only made it worse and I have..............just taken another call form her while typing grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I have snapped at her and told her every way possible I don't know her and she has never been a customer here. I don't want to put the phones on hold because I might miss potential customers, but what to do? I'm pretty damn sure the cops can't help and dealing with the phone company takes more time than I have to give right now.

Now I'm livid. Just answered another call and had a wistle blown in my ear after being called something I won't type here. Did I mention the wistle in the ear hurts like hell and now my ear's ringing something fierce. I have decided to let the answering machine pick up first ring with a message that all calls will be returned from a seperate phone (mine) ASAP and that we are open but experiencing technical difficulties with the phones.

On monday caller ID and block is being activated so this doesn't happen again.

She doesn't even have a lease for pete's sake. She psycho. I'm betting she'll leave some nasty messages on the machine which I will keep for proof should the need arrive.

Actually, at this point, you could threaten her with charges! I'd heard of one business who likened it to a DOS attack on a server (No legit customers can get in because your lines are tied up by harrassers who can be identified). Not only that, but the damage to your ears...Sounds to me like you may need to go big.

I wouldn't usually go so far as to actually press charges, but once they know you CAN, tends to slow it down.

You can ask her if she would like to rent a unit at your facility
