    Default DigiGate

Hey! This is my first post in here.

I have a question about DigiGate. We just got a new computer and I have found out that DigiGate does not run on Vista 64 bit. It can only run on Vista 32 bit. I know you can run a 32 bit program on a 64 bit computer but DigiGate is different for some reason. Also, I talked to DigiGate and they said there is no way to run it on a 64bit computer. The only 32 bit computers I'm finding are pretty much worthless. I was thinking about running a virtual pc with XP as the operating system so I can keep this computer. Has anyone tried it? Or do you have any other suggestions?

the virtual system may work, but if it doesn't you may want to get a cheep used PC and network it to your existing system.

Oh yea, Welcome aboard ... sometimes I forget my manners.

Thanks guys! My mom is coming by today to help me try the virtual pc. We'll see if that works. I need to call DigiGate back and see if they work with Windows 7. I have a free upgrade for that when it comes out in October. Until then I hope this works!

your plan of going with XP would work. Virtually ANY operating system other than 64 bit Vista will work. 64 bit, in a nutshell, is more juice than access software requires and it's not just DigiGate, it's all our competitors, too. There is a place for 64 bit, like a 10,000 person company running a big database application, but self storage isn't it.

64 bit is also helpful with graphics - I use it on my laptop.
