Default Problems with Digigate and keypad.

I'm using a Digigate controller and Sitelink web edition. One of my four keypads have just started acting up. When a tenant enters his code, it shows up correctly in the Digigate activity log, but the gate does not open. This has been happening off and on for a few days now. Everything seems to be fine on the software end but for whatever reason, the gate will usually not open with the one keypad.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be or what I could check? I would assume if it shows up the activity log, that the keypad is working and the gate should open. Not having any other problems with the gate or software.

    Any help would be appreciated!

Do you routinely perform minor maintenance to your system controller? Most of the mystery problems I have encountered with DigiGate aside from equipment failure are corrected by clearing the SysCon and then doing a Set Controller and then Downloading All from the Utility menu. If you don't have specific instructions on how to do this send me a message and I'll try to walk you thru it.

I have tried clearing and setting the system controller a few times with no luck.

Sorry, that was my only idea.

That would be my suggestion, too. If you did the 3-step reset process, I don't know anything else to do. I have had the same problem in the past, but the reset always works.

Sometimes it's with the keypad itself..our maintenance man said that it sounds like the keypad is either going bad or you have an underground wire that is worn or broken. We had the same problem with the keypad at one of our facilities. The one coming in works fine, but the other one doesn't work because of the faulty wire even though it shows that it is working on Digigate and yes I cleared controller, defined units and downloaded all..but to no avail. I hope that helps

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I'm going to move the keypad to another location and see if the problem follows the keypad or stays at the same location. That should tell me if it is a faulty keypad or a wiring/software problem.

When you use the digi software to manually open the gate does it work?
Can you hear the relay in your controller click when it sends the gate open signal?

It sounds like the keypad and software and controller are working since your seeing it log in you activity report. The problem may be with you gate equipment.
