Going to switch to Sitelink
I am so happy words just cannot describe!!!! We will be switching from Domico DOS to Sitelink!!! Though I am very excited for this change the stories that I have heard about the transition from one program to another has got me worried a bit. I guess I am wondering what, if any is the best way to transfer tenant information from one system to the other?
Or if you have any other information on this subject I would love to hear what you have to say!!

I'm saving that level of happiness for winning the lottery!!! Other then that, I'm sure I can find some words to describe!
The Sitelink tech support people should be able to help you, they should know the peculiarities of switching from each of their competitor's software to Sitelink.

Re: Going to switch to Sitelink
I switched from Domico DOS to Sitelink about 8 years ago and it was tough as not all the info could be pulled from Domico automatically. I am extremely happy we moved to Sitelink but the switch was not an easy task.

Re: Going to switch to Sitelink
I don't think it matters which programs you change from/to, there will always be some data that will not transfer over. We went from Domico Dos to PTI Taskmaster about 10 yrs ago and this yr to Sitelink Web. There is defiantly going to be a learning curve. If you have a way of keeping Domico available, do it. That way you can refer back to your old data when necessary.
Best of luck

Re: Going to switch to Sitelink
Leave it to the SiteLink techs. They will ask you for files from Domico and then transfer as much as possible automatically. Then you have to go unit by unit to be sure that everything is correct and make the necessary adjustments. In a month, you'll be thrilled that you did it!

Database conversions on the Sitelink end have come a long way the past few years....

Re: Going to switch to Sitelink
The secret is to review each tenant after the conversion. SL has good tools if you need to adjust any account. But there are times that hoods of model T's don't fit on new Corvettes! don't worry though, the SL techs have hammers!

Re: Going to switch to Sitelink
Make sure to print out rosters of your tenants with names addrresses phone numbers, move in dates, rent rates etc. We switched to Sitelink years ago from Umbrella. If all your tenant's rents are charged on the 1st, it should be easy to do. We use anniversary dates so we had to enter the dates the rent charged for each tenant. Overall I like Sitelink.

Re: Going to switch to Sitelink
I miss SiteLink....we switched to Centershift from SiteLink web in August.
I printed all of the notes and ledgers for each tenant prior to the transfer. I also had to print a list of individuals on invoicing and auto-pay so I could re-set them up.
I hope that helps!Laura
