SiteLink Drivers License Reader
I have Site Link Stand alone edition
I have the magnetic card readers that work with old drivers license's. I want to upgrade to a scanner that can read current drivers license's. The new licenses in 49 states now use a 2d bar code. I ordered a new 2d bar code scanner and found that it only filled the first 2 blanks in the tenant information form at the move in screen, then it proceeded to crash my computer.
My thought is that site link stand alone edition is not compatible with the new drivers license technology.
I tried to contact site link support (anyone notice their support seems to be getting worse and worse?)
They didn't respond to my email request for help, so I called and waited on hold for a while to talk to a rep.
He was not even aware that the bar codes had changed on drivers license's, and could not recommend a scanner that would work. He had me contact ID Tech(which had no clue what site link was) they told me that if the software has not been updated to support the new data format it would not work.
Has anyone got a 2d scanner to work in site link stand alone edition? If so what did you buy and from where did you get it?
Thanks in advance

Re: SiteLink Drivers License Reader
I have a Mag-Tek Centurion Secure Card Reader Black with 3-Track Reader Unencrypted Mode USB Keyboard Emulation Interface that I bought from POSguys.com using it with Sitelink web edition and it scans licenses no problem. With regard to Sitelink tech support, a lot of those guys have different unwritten specialities (it seems), you may try giving them a call back to see if that would work with stand alone.
