After an old thread about removing snow was resurrected, I came across this post on Twitter:

"Our amazing staff is working hard to clear the snow but we are still pretty buried. Please enter at your own risk and if not necessary please wait a few days for us to catch up before you come by! Stay safe out there."

How do you let tenants know about facility closures or safety risks during bad weather?

I put a message on my keypads that the facility may be icy. I have not employed other methods of notifications such as email or social media.

Same. Message at the keypads. I also would have one at the office door.

This is Alaska, everyone knows its icy everyplace. That being said I push for more sanding of the lot and get pushback from other manager and owner because it costs money

A lot of great ideas. I will give you my thoughts and opinions but each faciltity is unique and each location presents its own positives and negatives.

spidey senses, gotta love them... in our area anytime someone inquires about "smallest unit" and "access hours" we are on guard.. I had one the other day who wanted the smallest then asked if we accept checks after refusing to say what she's storing other than "boxes"....

I won't blow unless I absolutely have to. I prefer broom and dustpan. As far a "hacks", I'll get the extension cords out and a shopvac on the roofs when its time to clean gutters of leafs, dusting doors are super quick if you get a California king duster from wally world in the auto section....
