  • Just an FYI-if your lock inventory is even just starting to get low, ORDER NOW

The way the supply chain is you are not guaranteed that you'll get your locks before you run out. We ordered smaller locks (the larger locks work, but are super tight and are finger pinchers) for our weird hasps in MAY, and I called a couple of weeks ago to inquire how the process was coming along (we're out but I wasn't upset bc I know the supply chain is broken) and they're still waiting for their deliveries.

Don't be caught without locks! Also, we ordered a Janus door end of May, and the garage door guy still hasn't received it (though we knew already steel is way behind)

We order from Chateau now and still haven't received our combo locks ordered June 13th! We did get the regular disc locks.

Edited to add: I just called them to follow up regarding the word locks, still backordered. She did say they have plenty of the regular disc locks for immediate delivery tho.

Yeah, last spring (2021) at my other facility we were scrambling between facilities when some of them were low on locks (the mgt company was all, 'ok, who needs locks and who has them). I'm the child of Depression era folks and I always have more locks than I think we'll need. Unfortunately the smaller disc locks sold out in July so I was caught with my proverbial pants down on those-everything else is good.

So what do you do when you run out?

Well, we have 15 facilities, most of whom use the same disc locks (some use cylinder locks though) we could scramble and 'buy' some from them if needed.

I always buy more than needed and order when we're down to about 15, like Kris. Thankfully we've never run out all together, but if we do, I suppose we'd just have to figure it out, find another temp vendor, or not sell locks! We have 2 other locations, but we don't trade inventory between stores....they might share with us if they even had them.

I'm at the point of ordering more when I still have at least 50. But I did order like 15 from an inferior company last year when we were really low, just to get through. Now those are the ones in the kiosk!

I don't even sell locks anymore. It took me 2 years to sell out a box of 10 so I just stopped dealing with it.

We get ours from Wilson Bohannan (made in the USA - we buy American!), and our last order took about 10 weeks to fulfill. We were down to our last one when the shipment arrived.
                    I'm forewarned now. Order early.
