  • What would you do?

UPDATE: Thankfully, Yelp agreed it went against their terms of service and removed the review. I am so relieved. Since it's all removed, I'm also going to remove the content of her review here. And for those who missed the story, just know it is occasionally possible to get Yelp to remove a review when it truly has nothing to do with your business.

First, it takes real courage to share this painful and personal event. Know that we all hold you in high regard and believe you only have the best of intentions for your boyfriend and your business. I'm not a legal expert, but it seems like this entry would go against Yelp's policies. There's nothing about the business here, but you personally. Have you contacted Yelp? Or can your boyfriend ask her to remove it?

She's refusing to remove it right now. I'm in the process of contacting Yelp but not terribly hopeful.

Oh, I am so sorry that you are having to go through this painful private matter.

I would attempt to flag the review as it has nothing to do with your storage property.

        Good luck dear.
        We all stand WITH you!
Don't put off until tomorrow, what you can do today.

I would contact a lawyer and see what they say. Dragging you and her father's private business on a social media site is cruel and unnecessary. Maybe a cease and desist and requirement to remove everything off of the property and the review, but that's for the lawyer to say. I am SO sorry, because that sucks.

I am so sorry this is happening to you. People are awful & will do anything to bring others down. Reach out to Yelp to see what they can do. Hang in there!!

Really glad that Yelp removed that review and did it so quickly. No way that Google would have done that. Stay strong and keep doing the right thing. Brave of you to share and I wish you all the best!
