Wow! That is so sad. So many small plane/flight hobbyists that crash.
Even duct-tape can't fix stupid. But it can muffle the noises.

Very sad. I wonder if he kept his helicopter at the storage facility. Take off/Landing spot?

This is so sad! I remember several years ago one of my very close competitors (meaning we actually talked and sent each other business) died in a private passenger airplane crash. I heard it on the news. It was terrible. We went to the funeral home and it was so sad to see his wife. She was devastated. After she passed, just a year later, the kids took over the facility. They recently sold it.

Sad and to me almost sounds intentional. I wonder if he was depressed?

I don't see any evidence to indicate that based on that article. Flying helicopters is a fine balancing act. Beyond possible pilot error, I wouldn't assume anything more than a possible medical emergency (such as a heart attack). Very sad, no matter what.

Prayers and love to the family and friends.

I am so very sorry to read about this happening to one of my neighbors (I am only about 1 1/2 hours away from Red Bud, IL, which is pretty close here in rural Illinois).
