  • Ideas? We have this greasy dirt

and re-painted doors, so I can't have them pressure wash them. I wanted to know if anyone had a surefire dirt remover for their roll up doors? I'm thinking of squirt of dawn soap and vinegar in water. Anyone have something better?

After our flood, we had a lot of grease. Pressure wash did nothing. Used a Degreaser, water and a squeegee mop head. Worked great. Then rinse.

So, more than a squirt of dawn then, the vinegar and we have fuzzy mop heads as the doors cannot be squeegeed. Probably warm water too.

A mild low suds detergent and a soft RV or car wash type brush should do (to avoid scratches). Wet the door good and then you can 'slide off' the dirt rather than risk scratches to the coating with something too rough which overtime would accelerate the breakdown/oxidation of the paint. Just avoid the high pH cleaners which can degloss the doors (take the shine off) unless you are planning on applying a new clear coat.

Well, the dawn and vinegar worked like a charm. Just needs a rinse afterwards and the doors shine.

Dawn & Vinegar works wonders! Glad it worked for you.
That's the thing about storage, we always have to find a solution but some are better at it than others It sure keeps us on our toes.
