Hello everyone. I am new to the site and have a few questions. After twelve years in business I finally came to the conclusion that i needed to lock all of my units when they are vacant, i know it's a no-brainer but it took me that long to figure it out. I found this site trying to find a good place to buy keyed alike locks. Looks like a great place here for owners and managers to share information and vent to someone who understands. We only have 48 units but I also do mobile storage (twenty foot shipping containers i haul on a roll-back. My question as the title says is where is the best place to purchase keyed alike disk locks? I appreciate any help you guys can give. Thanks in advance and as I said this seems like a great place.

Hey, B, welcome to SST. As you will find, if you have a question, you will find the answer here.
As Loftis says, Chateau Products is a good place for locks. You also might try UHaul, Supplyside and search ISS for other vendors. There are many.Bob Taylor (Astro)

If you dont see what your looking for call. I just got a bunch or red disc locks keyed alike.

Re: Where To Buy Locks?
We use LAI locks. Try an internet search for that or Lock America. They always treat us good. The few times I have had issues, they always took care ofit. I even had a tenant take his lock apart tell me it was defective and say he had a break in in two units. They helped with the Insurance adjuster and police. One lock defective slim chance, two no way.

From you question, it appears that you do not belong to any trade organization nor subscribe to any trade journals. This is how I probably got on the lock mailing lists.
Times are changing, especially the lien laws in many states and to keep up with them, I would recommend joining the state and national storage associations.
My 2 cents worth.

Re: Where To Buy Locks?
I am sure you will get many recommendations from all of us on the companies that sell the locks you are looking for.
May I also throw out this advice. Not all disc locks are created equal, nor are they of the same material inside or the way they are designed. This varies all the way from weep/drainage holes, to the material and thickness the keys are made of.
Do your due diligence or you may end up with a bunch of peice of junk disc locks that the keys snap easily, the shackles rust quickly, and there are no holes to lubricate or let the water drain from them, no protective key hole covers.
You may want to get a hold of MasterLock. See if they can fulfill your needs for a keyed alike version. They have a disc lock that has a Boron-Carbide shackle (same material as tank armor and body armor 2x harder then steel), rust proof exterior, weather flap for key area.
I use these on my own storage and they are by far the most superior disc lock I have found yet.The views/comments expressed in this posting are my own. They have not been reviewed or approved by CubeSmart and do not necessarily represent its views or opinions.

Reply to AC Experts out there?by fishhu1968Yes, both were completely out of freon. Luckily the temps here have been mild so the other units have been keeping up. We have 7 total in this building, but come summer we need all of them going 24/7.
